Arthur, George, Sir, 1784-1854

Sir George Arthur was Superintendent of British Honduras from 1815 to 1823; and, as Governor of Van Diemen's Land from 1824 to 1836, is remembered for his system of convict administration and attempts to drive the Aborigines off the island.
